Zzzzzzzz…… Wait, there’s a game going on? WHAT THE, WHAT?! There was a barnburner right in front of my face and the crowd was seemingly half asleep. With the exception of an Owen Walter buzzer beater, the crowd was DEAD! I looked up at the score after a quick snooze and suddenly realized that the score was close. Although quiet, the crowd was unusually large. Fans covered both sides of the Corunna gymnasium thanks to our “youth” night. The youngsters were able to partake in the pre game locker room and I must say, what an awesome idea! Those kids will remember that for the rest of their lives. There was also a high quantity of teachers present on Friday night. One of which was Mr. Alan Montgomery with his son Jack Montgomery. Alan, thanks for supporting the Cavs, but I do have one quick question. Where exactly did you go after the first quarter? Hopefully the varsity squad gets an explanation. We’ll revisit this on a later blog.
With the 3rd quarter finishing, it looked as if it was going to go down to the wire. But, fortunately for the Cavs, they outscored the Panthers 23-10 in the 4th and ran away with the victory 73-43.
The student section had a solid 8 rows with a chant here or there. Then, surprisingly sat down after halftime. WTH crazies? All I gotta say is that they better be ROCKIN’ THE WAREHOUSE TONIGHT!!!!
Jaron VanFleteren stole the show again.“JV” had another 20+ game and finally ended with 24. As the great Dick Vitale would say, “He’s awesome, baby, he’s a diaper dandy!” VanFleteren’s specialty is putting his head down like a freakin’ bulldawg and takin’ it straight to the rack. If he keeps playing with this reckless abandonment attitude, he could easily propel the Cavaliers to a District Title. Let’s hope so.
On another note, I would like to call out my haters. They know who they are. As they sit back and try to find anything and everything wrong with my blog, I will still continue to write. People say there are “grammatical errors”, “anyone can do it”, “not for the school”, etc. But just so we're clear, in order to pick out my errors, one would have to read it. Therefore, I know that you’re interested. Oh! By the way! Thanks for your views. Keep hatin’ while I do what I love. No press is bad press (look it up).
The time has come. This time for sure.
